Prizegiving 2018 Prefects' Speech

The Prefects would like to say 'thank you' to Mrs Vickers for all her hard work throughout the 27 years of working at Ruapotaka School. She has done so much to help improve the school ever since 1991. Starting assemblies, laying down rules and putting students first before herself.

From the first day we started school, Mrs Vickers acted like a second mother to us, loving us and showing that she cares. Saying thank you is not enough to show how much we appreciate her.

We wish Ms Vickers all the best in her new chapter of her life.

No Cooking For Us Today😞😞

Today at Tech our teacher was away so we had a substitute. We were given a worksheet which had a word find! Mary, Tyron, Sosiua and I were working on the word find together.

Towards the end of everyone finishing the word find, we had a race to see who could locate the last word. In the end Tyron was the winner. I was so close!

My Weekend!

Throughout the weekend I read a lot of comics on an app called Webtoon. I read a comic called I Love Yoo, I also read a comic called Age Matters. I Love Yoo is a comic created by a person named Quimchee. There are 15 main characters , a few of them go by the name of Shin-Ae, Yeong-Gi (Nol), Kouske, Dieter and Sang-Chul...the list goes on! It was really interesting to read and watch how the comics were developing, I can't wait to read more!!

Jovi Modelling With Mrs L-C!!!

Today Room 12 did jovi modelling with Mrs L-C.
First we had to choose two different coloured clay balls. Next we had to keep the balls warm by rolling them in our hands. While we were dong that, Mrs L-C read an alphabet book that had different art styles.

When she had finished reading we got on to creating a utensil that we can find in kitchens. I made a bowl, I pinched the clay so it would become a bowl shape. We weren't allowed to break pieces off, but I managed to create a fork.

It was very fun!!!

Volleyball!!!

On Tuesday the 7th of August Room 12 had volleyball with our coach Renee. It was fun because we were able to do digs and sets. First we had to get into groups of three, then we practiced how to dig. When digging, if you are right handed you put your left hand over your right then you bring your two thumbs together, if you are left handed its the same but your right hand is over your left. Later on we had a game of Volleyball which was extremely fun.

An Entertaining Assembly

At precisely 1:40pm  on Monday February the 26th Room 10 hosted a syndicate assembly.  First we sang a song called Better When I'm Dancing by Meghan Trainor. After the song, they held a dance competition against Room 10 and Room 9

Room 9 (Iosefo and Pita) were very entertaining, they battled to a song called Pump It by The Black Eyed Peas, but sadly Room 10 (Elamoni and Kymani) had won that round. Next up to face Elamoni and Kymani were Pupuke and Leaaepeni (Room 12) Pupuke was very entertaining while Leaaepeni was just standing in the corner, Elamoni and Kymani were also very entertaining. Throughout their battle, the three made the syndicate crowd roar! In the end Elamoni and Kymani won the dance battle.

A New Year!

Malo e lelei! It is now 2018. I have become an intermediate student. This year, two of my friends and I have become responsible prefects.

I have gained interests in many different subjects inside and outside of school.
Two of my favourite things to do outside of school is watch anime and read manga. I also like to draw character designs and talk to my friends online.

I have two older siblings who have graduated from school, found a job and moved away from home. My eldest sibling is 25 years of age. Then there’s my brother, he is 19 years of age.
My eyes are of mixed colours and my hair is shoulder-length. My hair was originally light brown but I had blonde highlights put in it. The highlights in my hair are slowly fading away. I have tanned skin. I am a bit taller than the average height for my age.
